Search: connect query and offer
Practise reading the difference between a keyword and the search terms that triggered an ad. Check intent, location, exclusions and landing-page relevance together. A cheap click can still be irrelevant.
Google’s search terms documentation explains the report and its visibility limits. The report includes terms used by a significant number of people, rather than every query.
Paid social: give creative a question
For Meta Ads, practise describing the audience context, the proposition and what differs between creative variants. Keep the offer truthful and check whether the destination supports what the ad communicates.
Do not infer that an audience label establishes a person’s identity or intent. Use appropriate, permitted account access and current platform guidance.
Measurement: define before comparing
Learn the difference between clicks, sessions, recorded events and business outcomes. Record the reporting period and attribution assumptions. A change in recorded conversions may reflect instrumentation as well as demand.
Practise calculating and explaining a metric using synthetic data before relying on it in a client conversation. Keep consent and access requirements within the organisation’s approved process.
Study with an applied exercise
Google Skillshop offers official Google Ads learning. Meta Blueprint provides Meta advertising lessons. Check each provider for current course and assessment details.
After a lesson, write a short explanation in your own words and apply it to a fictional brief. A certificate is one piece of evidence; it does not replace practical judgement or guarantee employment.
